Netflix reportedly pulled around 12 million viewers for Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano — but Chael Sonnen thinks everyone is avoiding the real question: Was that actually good? Chael breaks down the strange way people are talking about the numbers, why phrases like “good for MMA” may actually reveal the problem, and how Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson completely changed the conversation around combat sports on Netflix. If boxing reportedly did TEN TIMES the numb ers, what does that mean for MMA moving forward? Chael also dives into the business side of the sport, whether Netflix and MVP can realistically build repeatable MMA events, and why keeping a fight card together may have secretly been the biggest accomplishment of the entire weekend. There’s also discussion about Jake Paul potentially fighting Francis Ngannou, Mike Perry calling for an MMA fight, and why combat sports are becoming more about personalities and moments than the sport itself. The bigger question isn’t whether Ronda vs Gina succeeded. It’s whether Netflix believes MMA is worth investing in again. #UFC #MMA #Netflix #RondaRousey #JakePaul #FrancisNgannou #ChaelSonnen 0:00 Netflix did 12 million views 0:35 “Is that actually good?” 1:00 Jake Paul vs Tyson comparison 1:42 Boxing vs MMA on Netflix 2:00 Jake Paul accepts BOTH fights 2:42 Why Tyson can’t be duplicated 3:26 Is MMA repeatable on Netflix? 4:18 Was Gina even necessary? 5:00 “You’d do it again for $5 million?” 5:34 Could women’s MMA still work here? 6:08 Is Ronda really done? 6:40 Francis vs Jon Jones CAN happen 7:00 MVP’s most underrated accomplishment 7:48 Why UFC fighters miss weight so often 8:32 The UFC’s unique problem 9:18 “Defend the 12 million number” Bad Guy Inc merch now available at Click here to subscribe: Follow me on IG: Follow me on Twitter: Follow me on Threads
